DTEK’s strategy envisions the development of “green” energy as a separate business area. It is also one of the most promising, as it helps to diversify the business and allows the Company to increase its market share through high growth rates and new types of energy. DTEK is now concentrating its efforts on the wind-energy segment, where its business is coordinated by the Wind Power subsidiary.
DTEK’s portfolio of wind-energy projects amounts to around 1,200 MW, which is unprecedented for not only the Company but also the Ukrainian energy sector overall. DTEK is currently carrying out wind monitoring. When it is completed, the Company will begin building and operating wind farms. They will most likely be situated on the shore of the Azov Sea in the Donetsk and Zaporozhye regions.
