Service-Invest

Service-Invest is DTEK’s key enterprise for electricity transmission and supply. It is a full-fledged member of the Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM) of Ukraine. Its sixty nine 6-38-110 kV transformer substations with a total transformer capacity of 2,372 MVA and 2,600 km of 6 to 150 kV electricity transmission lines are located in Donetsk and Dnepropetrovsk regions. 

In order to comply with the requirements of the state enterprise Energorynok and timely receive and process data on electricity purchased, sold and transmitted, in 2005-08, Service-Invest introduced and currently operates an Automated Meter Reading System (AMRS). Today, AMRS integrates all reference electricity meters at the commercial and technical metering points at the company’s substations and collects data from the substations of some license holders and consumers in Donetsk and Dnepropetrovsk regions. Furthermore, on January 1, 2011, Service-Invest became the first company in Ukraine to obtain a certificate confirming the registration of its Automated Meter Reading System with Energorynok SE.

As part of long-term plans to rebuild and re-equip the facilities, the company has been successfully implementing its electricity networks upgrade program. Each year, it retrofits, upgrades and construct substations, overhead and cable electricity transmission lines using advanced equipment, automation systems and IT technologies (of ABB and Siemens). The above measures have increased the reliability of electricity supplies to leading industrial companies of Donetsk and Dnepropetrovsk regions, enhanced environmental safety in the regions, and reduced electricity network losses to 1.1%.

Service-Invest’s main customers are in the mining and metal industries. Coal-mining, steel-making and machine-building businesses consume a large share of its electricity. 47.7% of the total productive supplies go to enterprises in Metinvest Holding Group, in particular: Azovstal Iron and Steel Works, Northern Iron Ore Enrichment Works, Central Iron Ore Enrichment Works, and Yenakiieve Iron and Steel Works. Electricity supplies to DTEK Group’s companies account for about 7.3% of the total productive supplies of Service-Invest.
