DTEK Sverdlovanthracite LLC

DTEK Sverdlovanthracite LLC is an integral anthracite extraction and preparation property complex located in Dolzhano-Rovenetskyi geological and industrial region in the East of Ukraine. The complex comprises 5 mines, 3 coal preparation plants, a mine construction group and auxiliary divisions securing their operation.

The company has 17 seams with 213.5 million tons (Mt) of commercial anthracite reserves on its balance. Six seams with 67.6 Mt of commercial reserves are being developed. The company plans to commence extraction and preparation of coal from 4 additional seams with 105.3 Mt of commercial reserves.
All the mines of DTEK Sverdlovanthracite have a sufficient amount of explored reserves. Almost all of them have additional seams or entire blocks allowing for significant extension of their service life.

In accordance with the concession agreement DTEK shall invest UAH 2.79 billion in DTEK Sverdlovanthracite’s mines during 2012-2016. Investments are intended for upgrading of equipment fleet, modernization of production, capital construction, reserves addition, seams development optimization, etc. Due to investments by the end of 2016 coal output is expected to increase by 7 million 180 thousand tons per year.

Mined coal is supplied to TPPs of Donbassenergo, Dneproenergo, Vostokenergo as well as to Ukrgrafit for manufacturing of carbon-based products. A part of coal is exported.

About 2% of the mined coal is used for own needs of the enterprise and for fulfillment of social programmes.
