Dneproenergo is one of the largest suppliers of thermal power in Ukraine. It comprises three thermal power plants: Krivorozhskaya, Pridneprovskaya (both in Dnepropetrovsk Region) and Zaporozhskaya (Zaporozhye Region). Together with electricity, Dneproenergo supplies heat to residential areas in the Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporozhye regions.
Dneproenergo’s total installed capacity is 8,185 MW. In 2009, the enterprise generated 12.93 billion kW of electricity and transmitted 11.79 billion kW.
Dneproenergo’s plants mainly use thermal coal, alongside some fuel oil (mazut) and natural gas. Most of the coal used is supplied by DTEK’s coal-mining enterprises. In 2009 coal supplies from third parties accounted for just 1.5% of the amount used.
DTEK owns a 47.55% stake in Dneproenergo.
