22 November 2011, Kiev –Two DTEK’s HR programs received the highest appraisal of the experts of the first national contest Award HR-BRAND Ukraine-2011. Corporate university, DTEK Academy, won in the category “Ukraine”, and DTEK Generation project focused on company’s cooperation with target universities took silver in the category “Regions”.

Established in Russia in 2008 and in Ukraine in 2011, the HR-BRAND is an annual independent prize awarded for the most successful work with reputation of a company as an employer. The contest has three nominations: “Ukraine, “Regions” and “Capital”. The jury consists of 11 Ukrainian and international managers, who specialized in recruitment, HR consulting and branding.

DTEK is the major private vertically-integrated power company in Ukraine. It is part of the financial and industrial group System Capital Management (SCM). The enterprises of DTEK build up an efficient operational chain of coal production and enrichment, electricity generation and distribution.
The coal business of DTEK is represented by DTEK Pavlogradugol (consisting of 10 coal mines), DTEK Dobropolyeugol (5 mines), DTEK Mine Komsomolets Donbassa and five coal preparation plants.

DTEK also holds a 46.82% stake in Kievenergo, a company generating and supplying heat and electricity.
DTEK Academy started its work in March, 2010. It is based on candidate pool training programs: The Power of Knowledge and The Energy Leader. The training is done by DTEK top managers, professors of the London Business School and Kyiv Mohyla Business School. In 2011 DTEK corporate university became a member of International Business School Associations CEEMAN (Central and East European Management Development Association) and EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development). The Company plans to apply stored knowledge and skills not only for corporate training, but also provide high quality training, consulting and appraisal services to DTEK partners.
Since 2009 DTEK has been implementing DTEK Generation program of cooperation with Ukrainian institutions of higher education. The Company regularly works with Donetsk National Technical University, National Mining University in Dnepropetrovsk and National Technical University Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. Annually, in each of these institutions of higher education, DTEK engages 3-4 year students of major specialties for training in specialized “DTEK groups”. Experts of power holding work out special courses, seminars, practical classes for such students, and thereby change traditional training program by 40 %. The best students of “DTEK groups” get additional scholarship from the Company. Managers of DTEK head office and enterprises take part in organization of students’ training and work of state examination boards. The Company also provides assistance for material and technical basis improvement in the institutions of higher education: Donetsk National Technical University and National Mining University, computer classrooms, presented by DTEK, are functioning. In the future, the Company plans to expand the list of associate institutions of higher education.
